“Phase field models for tumour growth with applications to personalized medicine”
ABSTRACT
In this talk I will present multiphase field models for tumor growth, based on the Cahn-Hilliard equation, which incorporate the main bio-chemical and mechanical processes involved in tumor evolution in the a-vascular and in the vascular stages. I will show both analytical results and numerical simulations for patient-specific test cases, and I will present different types of inverse and PDE-constrained optimization problems which are of some interest for clinical applications.
